I’m A 90’s Baby
I did a hybrid read. I switched from Audiobook to Kindle and back with this one.
I love the song by Savage Garden. That’s like one of my top songs and the moment that it was used for in this book is *chefs kiss* (pun intended)
At the beginning I couldn’t stand Dot (fmc) she really aggravated me with the way she treated Ambrose. She gets better throughout the book. In the beginning she is very oblivious and narcissistic but as i said she gets better throughout the book.
She grows into a better person and i love that. I love how patience and loving Ambrose is.
I love the whole temporary secret identity thing. He tries to tell her a few times and i love that.
The female narrator was decent.
Really enjoyed the male narrator.
Overall with everything i did like the book. Narration is a 3 star.
I ended up reading the kindle version during the FMC parts and listening to the audio for the MMC parts.

4.25-4.5⭐️
What a joy to read this book was! I giggled so much, kicked my feet, had to hold my Kindle close to my chest so fellow commuters wouldn’t read the filth over my shoulder and I did shed a tear because it was fun, delightful and I absolutely ADORED Cal and Row.

⭐️ 3.5. I enjoyed the banter and Calla’s quirkiness. Found myself laughing out loud but other than that.. didn’t feel anything else.
The proposal part was so cringe i couldn’t

The FMC is quirky, but got in her own way too many times that she was annoying by the end. The story’s a grumpy/sunshine with a little mystery sprinkled in. I liked the department texting to give the characters some depth. The book was too long though.
