Was this book well written? No not at all. It was real cheesy and the writing felt so cringe at times.

The main character pissed me off and gave me second hand embarrassment a lot throughout this book oh my god😭. Starting with her tackling Row in the kitchen after her dad’s funeral???? And him pinning her to the floor was crazy like are we 10 years old. Also, Row was always saying some crazy obsessive shit about Cal like she could call him Stalin or wipe her boogers on a windshield and he would still be hard oh my god what are we doingggg. Also the smut was alllllright. The knife play was good though.

The writing was a 2.5 but the romance and cute stuff brought it up to a 2.75 Like the writing was so cringe with a bunch of TikTok references and WHY WAS SHE ALWAYS WEARING NEON LIKE A MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY. also she pissed me the fuck off by running away from him in the third act breakup like what are we doing you don’t want to hurt him but then you smash his heart into a million pieces. Girl.

This book was definitely needed though. After reading so much fantasy, I needed a palette cleanser with contemporary easy to read dramatic shit. LOL
