Some stories were phenomenal, others dragged. 3 stories all followed the same woman at different points in her life, to the point where I was convinced this would become a novel all about Juliet. Glad I read it, but wouldn’t say it’s a favourite.

idk, there’s just something in the precise simplicity of Munro’s writing that just lights a fuse in my brain. Will absolutely be reading more from her after this.

I had a really hard time getting into these short stories. I read the first two. This book was just "eh" for me.

I wanted to like this book but perhaps because each story did not hit the mark with me I found myself more and more disappointed. Also I did not like the way the narrative ran - I felt there was way too much use of pronouns, I mean can she really have to writing using her pronoun all the time they might not know what she means in the end if they think that she means another character but she doesn't... I found it made the stories feel closed in.
