As I start my reread of this series I'm trying to force myself to rate the volumes. It's a solid start, but I don't know how 14 year old me made it through all the food ick. Patiently awaiting the arrival of my favorite characters and the art to really ramp up. Hide still best boi.

A good start to the series. The artwork suits the setting and the story really well (though the fight scenes are kind of hard to follow) and I like the characters. I like how Kaneki is struggling to come to terms with his new life and his reactions and outbursts make sense in the context of his situation. Hide's a fun character and a good friend to Kaneki, and Touka's...okay.

Not as enthralled as I thought I would be, but I'm curious to see where the series goes.

Absolutely amazing! The writing is off the charts and the characters and the story just suck you in. This book is one of the best Mangas I have ever read.
