Short but cracking reading about one of the lesser known battles (to me anyway) in Dublin, Easter 1916. There's been a wealth of material to get into during this centenary year and this little book has been a real find. The author does a great job of placing the battle into a wider context and you really get a sense of the tactics used by both sides, with a wealth of first person accounts as well. You really get a sense of how a small band of Irishmen organised themselves to take on the might of the British Army, and it's a shame that the name of Micheal Malone is not better known. Cracking read.
