This is an ARC I read, it does not come out until December, so sorry! Ruby is a second-generation wicked villains child. She cheats on her boyfriend and gets a photo text message from a stalker. Their back and forth is excellent, I love that she has no self-preservation and just goes all in. There are some surprising twists and turns and really cool surprises.

Wicked Pursuit is one of the short stories that is going to be a part of the Kickstarter for the Black Rose Auction. This is a Little Red Riding Hood retelling featuring the children of the Wicked Villains series by Katee Robert.
I want to thank Katee for giving her Patreon's this book early so we can read it/listen to the audiobook.
First off, I want to say that while this book does feature a child of the characters from Wicked Villains, I didn't find it to be confusing or like I was lost while reading this. I would say that if you are worried about spoilers for that original series, I would read those first. Other than that, I think this is pretty easy to read even without reading the other series.
This book is a darker romance as it does feature stalking. I would recommend looking up triggers for this story just to be safe. I really love Katee Robert's book and this was no different. I thought this was such an interesting take on the Red Riding Hood story. I really loved seeing the pressure that the children of the Wicked Villain series are under and seeing how the previous series influences their thought processes.
I listened to the audiobook of this and it's a dual narration book. I LOVED it as we get the female narrator doing the female voices and the male narrator doing the male voices. They both were perfect for this book and I loved them so much.
I don't want to say much about this plot as I do not want to spoil it but I will say that if you loved the Wicked Villains series or this interest you at all, please pick it up.

I don’t read a lot of dark romance . . . But holy shit I loved this. I was only planning to read a little bit of it before bed and ended up finishing it all in one sitting. Am I a dark romance/stalker romance girly now?

I received an ARC of this book as a reward for backing a Bonkers Romance kickstarter.

I loved the Wicked Villains series and The Beast was one of my favorites so I was very excited about this book. I was hesitant on the stalking and infidelity early on in the book but without spoilers, the story wraps up very nicely and feels very Wicked Villains/Katee Robert. I saw a few people say they wish it was longer and I agree but this book is part of the Black Rose Auction Kickstarter series and Katee Robert’s past books that were in similar series were also a little shorter so I think it’s par for the course. I listened to the audiobook early release for Patrons and 10/10 would recommend.

do I…like stalker romances now? Yall when I found out who the stalker was I swear it took me 5 minutes to pick my jaw up. I mean I’ve read dozens of Katee’s books at this point I should be surprised but there she goes again. They manage to make sure I’m both turned out and terrified at the same time.
