This is a great introduction to Anne of Green Gables as an early reader chapter book. You can’t really compare it to the original! But for an introduction for younger readers, it captures the essence.

This was a very cute snippet of Anne of Green Gables. I hope there are many more to come.

Author Kallie George has created an easy reader / easy chapter book of Anne of Green Gables. It's a great intro to Anne and the series for young readers. I hope there are additional books after Anne Arrives!

'Anne Arrives: Inspired by Anne of Green Gables' adapted by Kallie George with illustrations by Abigail Halpin is the first book in a new early reader series, and I found it as charming as the book it's based on.

Told with easy fonts, less words, and lots of pictures, this book follows the early days of Anne arriving at Avonlea. She meets Marilla and Matthew and has an incident with a nosy neighbor.

All the familiar elements are here and with the abridgment, nothing feels really forgotten. The illustrations are a real nice addition, and this would be a good gift for a young reader to introduce them to a classic series.

I received a review copy of this ebook from Tundra Books, Penguin Random House Canada and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this ebook.

I have a particular fondness for Anne of Green Gables; that series is dear to me and I anticipate when I will introduce those books to my daughters. Anne Arrives, an early-reader adaptation with pleasing illustrations, is the sort of book I could read with them now to whet their interest.

The illustrations are delightful, and the story -- as the title conveys -- covers Anne's arrival to Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert's farm. I believe there will be a series of these early readers to break up the familiar story in more manageable pieces for younger children.

I have never read the originals or seen the shows, but this is cute and a great segue into chapter books for young readers. I loved the illustrations.

Anne Arrives is the first in a series of chapter books about Anne of Green Gables. This book focuses on the beginning of [b:Anne of Green Gables|8127|Anne of Green Gables (Anne of Green Gables, #1)|L.M. Montgomery|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1615094578l/8127._SY75_.jpg|3464264] when she arrives to Green Gables and meets Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. This is a great book for getting children read for the original novels. Or perfect for fans like us! The illustrations are whimsical and as if one of the characters from the books decided to do the illustrations. I am looking forward to the others and more of Halpin's illustrations in other books.
