There were moments I enjoyed in this - but was disturbing at times. The significant age difference between the main character and her partner was something I did not enjoy- it always felt off. She was quite vulnerable and she was just seeking out a father figure imo so it just felt so sad to me.

Too much telling not enough showing. Good plot just lazily written
The storyline was promising, but the writing was terrible. 3/4 of the book was a repetitive backstory of the parents, and the rest was very brief about the actual main character. This was my first DS book, and based on this, I don't think her books are for me, honestly surprised that she's a best selling author.....

Invisible by Danielle Steel
Story is about Antonia and since her mother walked out on their family she knows she hast to hide from them. She knows how to take care of herself since 7 and older.
Her father pays no attention to her, he's pissed off at the wife that left him and the daughter to go act in LA. There are tidbits of information about her throughout.
Antonia is able to persuade her father with his new wifes help to allow her to attend college and major in screenwriting. She has intern jobs in LA and hopes to locate her mother while there to no avail.
She's excellent at her job and others have an eye for her. One is a director and she learns a lot from him til they realize they are in love with one another while she's working on his film, even got her to act in the movie to please him.
She had a few more spots but all she wants to do is screenwrite. She works during her pregnancies. Tragedy occurs and she has no one to help her. Her relies on Lara her step mother and a lot of the others from the movie industry.
She is able to relocate the whole family to a huge farm in CT where she hopes to raise the children, ride horses and get a great education. Olympia her daughter wants to act and she's real good at it...
Dash heads to his own adventures in Africa and the family stays in touch with Antonia writes more writing.
Assistant director moves into her life once again and the kids really like having him nearby. She leaves to become invisible again after they celebrate her birthday.
She's just a low key person. So much to this story, it's a KEEPER.
Love how she was able to live her life after all the tragedies. Hate how the mother approached her later in life. so cruel.
About the author is included at the end along with the author works.
Received this review copy from Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, Delacorte Press via NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Antonia is an unwanted child, with an unfeeling father driven to the brink by a narcissistic mother who cares little about anyone but herself. When her mother walks out on them at the age of 7, Antonia makes herself invisible and does little except to go to the movies every Saturday, eventually realizing that what she wants is to be a screenwriter. The book follows her life as she evolves from an invisible child to a young woman following her dream.
That storyline makes the book seem so good, right? WRONG. I honestly do NOT get what the hype about Danielle Steele is. I haven’t read any of her books that I remember and have heard she’s this great best seller but I (in full honesty) had to Google if this book was written by ghost writers because of the way it was so poorly written. I only gave it two stars because of the storyline. Everything else was like a high schooler trying to hit his essay word count or the old fashioned punishment of making a kid write the same sentence 200 times. Absolute mind numbing torture. Anyways, I think this is the first and last Danielle Steele book I’m picking up.

I enjoyed this book, as always wonderful characters. This book reminded me of some of Danielle's older books.
Super easy read. As a mom, I felt so bad for Antonia!
I received an advanced copy of this book.
This sweeping story from Danielle Steel guides us through the life of Antonia Adams, from her parents loveless marriage and how she learned to retreat and become invisible, to her dreams of writing screenplays and standing up for herself as she pursues that passion. Opportunities arise, but are they really her dreams and is she strong enough to stay true to herself? Antonia knows pain and tragedy, but she also has some great partners and support, and this novel tells that story well.

Danielle Steel is one of my go to authors and it amazes me not only how many books she has written, but also how many different topics she finds to write about. Invisible strays from her most recent books, but in a more positive way. We are still presented with a strong woman protagonist as the main character, but this one seems more down to Earth than the others. Antonia Adams is easy to be drawn to, to feel emotional toward, to root for, to be captivated by as she grows and matures. It is surprising and amazing that a girl who grew up hiding away making herself invisible every day became so ambitious and motivated, so driven and successful. Also typical of Steel, this novel focuses on family and the intricate relationships between the family members, and this family has its share of good and bad. I felt emotional when reading how her father treated her, how she was feeling as a result of the actions of her father and her mother, of situations she found her naive self put into, when falling in love, when reaching her dreams, when seeing her become the woman she dreamed of being. I was definitely attached to Antonia and her life and truly enjoyed reading this novel. I really like this writing style by Steel.
