Bland writing style.  Repeated sentences and adjectives too many times.  Story line was enjoyable tho
emotional sad fast-paced

It was a decent story line, but very repetitive as most of her books are. I skimmed a lot of pages and was still able to get the full scope of what was happening. There are definitely some sections in the book that need a trigger warning and caught me very off guard and made me a bit anxious.

Alternately painful and joyful, Steel demonstrates compassion for those survivors of childhood emotional abuse and neglect in this tale of one woman from her parents' first meeting until her her 40s.
