This was cute and funny. I know it came out first, but I read it because I absolutely loved Someone You Can Build a Nest In by John Wiswell and wanted to see how similar the two books were, since they are both sapphic and involve tentacle monsters. This is a much lighter read with an emphasis on humor, and in a contemporary setting. Both books were a good time for me, but if you want the monster girl romance without any violence, this is the one to pick. Alternatively, if you read this one and want a deeper read with more horror elements, I would highly recommend Someone You Can Build a Nest In. My small critiques with this book are that both characters are horny on site, which is odd since there's no actual spice in the book, and at times the writing was a little clunky.
Moderate: Body horror
Minor: Death of parent, Violence, and Death

This is a funny, cute novella that takes the concept of “what if that eldritch abomination just wanted a girlfriend instead of world domination?” and just runs with it. Throw in academic witches for good measure. The world-building is a little light, but it’s also a novella that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
Minor: Sexual content, Death, and Body horror

This is a weird and delightful romance. Would have loved to know more about Sian and her world, but I truly loved seeing Trillin come into being and figure herself out as she goes. It is very easy to read, even if some moments did hurt my brain, trying to understand or visualize some scenes.
It was a bit short, I was left wanting more, I can't wait for the next book!

This was a charming little adventure story. I really liked the parts from Trillin (the monster)'s perspective since to her the earth is so alien and strange.
