every thing was okay. i just felt like there was no chemistry between red and laz.

It took me almost a week to finish this 8h audiobook and if it wasn’t for the great narration I probably wouldn’t have made til the end credits.
Don’t get me wrong - I love Laz & Red. Really! But their story (even though totally sweet) was just lame… and therefore to long. This book could’ve easily been a novella or a side story in one of the other books and we all could’ve avoided the unnecessary drama near the end.
Despite that I give it 3 stars bc I love the characters- in fact, all of them, Ace (and Colton) made me laugh again real hard and the sex was hot ✌️
So I hop on to the next book in hopes that I can love [b:Join the Club|43509347|Join the Club (Four Kings Security #3)|Charlie Cochet|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1546948829l/43509347._SX50_.jpg|63990143] and Luckys and Masons story and continue with this series. So, fingers crossed!

Amazing!
Another king has fallen! Red and Laz are sweet couple. And when Laz’s life is threatened Red isn’t leaving his side. Their is a mystery to uncover and it’s all hands on deck to protect Laz. Their journey is a bit bumpy but they come out the other side with the happy ending they both deserve.

The narration of this book took my previous review of 3 stars up to 5. My main complaint when I originally read the book was that I found MC 2, Laz, decidedly unlikeable. Boudreaux’s narration made him more sympathetic and I totally enjoyed the audiobook.

I love these guys. I love all the characters so much. Everyone is so nicely portrayed and fleshed out. And I loved Laz and Red together. They were made for each other.
Only things that bothered me was the made up relationship conflict and the way the case ended, it was way too fast and not fleshed out at all. Wish we got a bit more on that considering it was a very important part of the book.

The only interesting thing about Laz and Red was their meeting in the first book, as much as it was over the top. Here though the road the author decided to take was the OTT filled with all the sugary sweetness than the interesting part.
Loved the scene with the stabbed pineapple though.
Greg Boudreaux is of course a boon narrating this series and if he'll continue so will I.

I'm pretty much just listening because of Greg Boudreaux and the soap opera-ness of this. Omg the plot is ridiculous and what's left is mostly sex and banter. But yeah. Onwards to book three.
