I believe this would have been more enjoyable if read in the serialized format in which originally published. All at once tends to make it harder to keep interested in the story. The only way I was able to get through this was through audiobook, if I read this physically I think I would've struggled a lot more.

This was an interesting read. As a huge Dickens fan, it was fascinating to see how different this was than his later works. His whole schtick is critiquing Victorian values, and yet this collection of stories was written before the Victorian age! So its tone is so different. It's fun for that...and I can believe that PG Wodehouse and other British humor writers found some inspiration in these pages. It was truly very amusing.
