I wish the plot and the world was a bit more fleshed out. The spice was immaculate. I loved Cinnamon as a heroine. Will be continuing this series!

Also, this is a great book to read if you like Baulder’s Gate 3 romance.

um HELLO? i was not expecting to get an epic journey in the book but the author DELIVERED.

the romance was so sweet, the scenes spicy, the banter absolutely hilarious, and the tension was actually high. i could not put this book down.

This was a super fun read. As my second romance book and first ever smut, it was so enjoyable I finished it within a day. It's super cheesy but it had me laughing the entire time. A great experience!

Loved this book so much. It's goofy and adorable and just lovely. One of those stories that acknowledges its own genre and is comfortable taking potshots at the sillier tropes and stereotypes. The characters are just over-the-top enough to be lovable without slipping into "ugh, this shtick again" territory. The overall world building wasn't very in depth, but the ideas that were explored helped with understanding the plot movement.

This book was cute and steamy in a way that made me want more!

I went into this not paying attention to the page count, which was a mistake on my part. This is definitely a shorter read, and as a result the adventure starts quickly before we know the characters very well. At first this disappointed me, but after realizing the short length, it all made sense. The book flips between the adventure plot and romance consistently. The quick pace didn't keep me as invested in the plot, but I was definitely hooked for the romance.

Cinnamon and Fallon are witty and endearing in the best way. I do prefer more of a slow burn with more tension, and again, this moved quickly for me. The spicy moments were *chef's kiss*.  I'm not personally into the fated mates trope, but it didn't deter my like of the characters.

Cons: I would have liked more character development, more plot development, more tension - really just more pages!

Despite the whimsical narration from Cin, this covered a surprising amount of dark topics (from death of a sibling, to slavery of a race).

The story was fun and adventurous, but I found the friendly narration a little too much, and didn't particularly enjoy the over the top ogling of all the demons. Also, the easy acceptance of just killing anyone and everyone (like the other tavern owner's tavern being burned down whilst he was presumed to be in it) was a little too ridiculous.

Also, every male in this book that had ginger hair was ridiculed or evil in some way, which wasn't my cup of tea either.

I would recommend this if you want an easy read without thinking too much into it.

This read like a terrible summary of a book I would have loved to read.

God, I SO wanted to love this. The premise was so exciting and fun and, like ... a black, curvy, female protagonist of a fantasy book?? Since when does THAT happen?!

I just ... the writing wasn't great. Being fully honest, it was bordering on bad. The whole thing had an air of 2012's 'Oh my GOD I'm soooo RANDOM' which made me cringe, and the author seems to have a blatant disregard for commas and their brilliant uses.

I very quickly fell in love with Fallow, which was unfortunate, as when it got to the NSFW scenes we learned that demons don't really have a word for 'consent' - which was played off as hot, but just made me feel kinda weird.

That all being said, it was funny, and oftentimes charming, and not an unenjoyable book. I'm definitely disappointed because, even without all the hype, I wouldn't have been happy with this book - but as it stands, my quest to find a fun, hot, hilarious and diverse fantasy book continues.
