um HELLO? i was not expecting to get an epic journey in the book but the author DELIVERED.

the romance was so sweet, the scenes spicy, the banter absolutely hilarious, and the tension was actually high. i could not put this book down.

This story had me laughing from beginning to end. It was completely ridiculous, but fully self-aware of it, and I loved that. The mix of modern language (including a lot of cursing), absurdity, and high fae creatures was entirely too much fun. The narrator for the audio book was incredible and gave Cin such flair.

It’s not a literary masterpiece, but I really enjoyed this. The irony laced into the story was beautifully done, even if the prose was a little underdeveloped. I was a little caught off-guard when the sweet, absurd tone shifted to graphic violence and explicit smut. The adventure itself was overly simplified and quite convenient.

Overall though, it’s a fluffy, smutty, absurd story that I will definitely re-read!

I only finished this book because it was short. I really should’ve DNF’d it though.

Our characters were two dimensional. Our male love interest was a giant red flag. Who sexual assaulted our main character on multiple occasions, until our female lead decided she like him so it was okay.

The plot was half-assed. And the writing was terrible. So much of “telling” and no “showing” the reader what’s happening. Not to mention the lingo in the book consistently took me out of the world with its modern day slang.

I think this book had such potential for being more but it fell very very flat just like our characters

This was a quick read that helped me get out of a reading slump. It was funny and cute at times but got graphic and spicy!! Personally I'm really not one for spice. Give me all the cute, bickering and banter and fluffy stuff and I'll be dying but not with the spice. But that aside, I did enjoy this book and the unlikely pairing forced to go on a dangerous quest. It was quick and easy to read which helped me get out of my slump!
