A+
This book was everything I needed on a hard day. Funny, adventurous, romantic. The author has become an instant favourite and I cannot wait to read more!

Not my type of book. It was recommended as being similar to The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches - but it actually has nothing in common with that book, so I probably went in with the wrong expectations.
The plot was alright, the characters were kinda funny and charming - at times - and some banter between the main couple was fun.
But god, the romance. It was... yeah. Definitely not my cup of tea.
Very insta-lovey. Not to mention this weird talking about "ownership" and "I'm going to make you love me" and other creepy things. Really, Fallon was extremely overprotective, pushy and outright creepy at times, something that too many "romance" novels try to sell as cute and lovey-dovey but also that raises huge red flags if you ever encounter someone like this in real life.
Also those stupid "pranks" he kept playing on her, really felt like unnecessary power moves that just served to increase the gap between them
At least he kinda waited for her consent... even if it did feel a little forced (had she not been permanently horny this would have given even creepier vibes, but... he couldn't have known that. Kinda 50 Shades vibes with that one...)

So... without the weird romance this might have been a 3, but really, if I think about DNFing it in the middle it wasn't worth my time I guess.
Also, multiple uses of the phrase "females" to refer to women (while using "men" in the same sentence with no problem). Blegh.

I absolutely loved this! This is the type of cozy fantasy vibes that I crave from books. Now I will admit there was more gore in it than I was expecting... but it was laugh out loud funny literally from the beginning to the end. The sexy scenes were absolutely delicious and although I knew after reading ‘Two Scoops of Hellfire’ that this was gonna be a good time it still managed to surprise me with how much I loved it. 100 stars.

While reading I felt amused and surprised at how kind of good the plot and story are put together. Cheesy? Yes, but such a delightful surprise and enjoyable.
Would I keep/buy? Yes.
Not a lot of time has passed since finishing but I will say it was the perfect nice and easy going read I was looking for. It was right up my alley and I'm still just truly shocked by how much I liked it, yes it had all the fantasy adventure kind of romance cliches but I feel like it was done in a way where you kind of expected it and like it didn't take itself too seriously. And this I've never had a book that made me laugh out loud so much.

Just what i needed in a reading slump when I was dnfing everything. Read it in 2 days. The things that wins is the humour! It was so FUNNY. I loved that the language is also super contemporary while the setting is medievalish. Makes it a breeze to follow and get through and incorporates gen z + millenial humour. I think I'll get the second in the series too (they are standalone but feature the same world). Loved the characterisation of the female MC!! Believable, 3D, funny, a grown ass adult woman (thank the goddess), thicc, curvy and brown skinned with pink dyed hair! loved the food descriptions and the cheese bit made me hungry for cheese (so then I read that part while eating some cheese and crackers - i recommend).

What i did not like as much was the No means Yes approach the male MC had to seggs. it isn't terrible but he's not winning any consent awards I can tell you that for free. I hate that, but it wasn't so bad in this book, it was more hit and miss. Male MC was classically morally questionable aggressive dude. Would have liked the violence toned down a tad. Also the whole overprotective thing that turns into possible confinement? Miss me with that shit. But thankfully that was not drawn out and was not actually so bad or against anyone's wishes (too much).

A hilarious subversion of the classic villain and damsel dynamic. Cinnamon is just a simple spice farmer when she happens across a demon in the woods after a heavy night of drinking, but the adventure that she embarks on isn't exactly what she's heard in the stories (or any of us, for that matter!) The book rockets through to the climactic ending, and a happily ever after of an unexpected kind. A delightful read and definitely an author to watch!

i’m sold. one of my fave spicy novels so far. is it still layered with microlevels of misogyny and violence against women? yeah. at the very least, its easy to ignore or completely miss. either way, it’s still better than other spicy novels i’ve read.

anyway its like 3am so im giving this 4 stars and heading to bed. have fun with this one everyone!
