This book definitely had the potential to be a 5 star read but was missing a few things for me.
It's a funny and quirky take on a adventurous story and the characters are hilarious. I loved the way things played out in the story the main thing that this book lacked was detail and continuation. It's a fast paced read and some of the storyline could have used a bit of slowing down but overall it was a stellar work.
I'm hoping book 2 improves upon these key points. I saw a few reviews complain about the language, it threw me off a little but it wasn't over the top like others made it seem in their reviews. I think this book caters to a specific generation more so than overall readers.
For me being a reader who can see the stories in my mind the missing details at key parts made some scenes hard to imagine, but not impossible... I think less is more when it comes to idioms, colloquiums, and euphemisms. In this story I think if it had the extra fluff (details) it may not have seemed so blatant to some readers as well.
I do look forward to the rest of the series and the growth of this author!

sexy, spicy, steamy high fantasy-fluff that also happens to be very well written with well-drawn characters that you'll enjoy spending time with. And very funny. Will definitely be checking out the other books in the series!

Moderate: Death, Alcohol, and Violence

This was the PERFECT palette cleanser for me. It was so much fun to read and I found myself frequently laughing out loud. It had the right amount of spice and plot. I loved Cin’s character and her banter with the demon.
This is not a book that takes itself seriously and that’s why I really enjoyed it. While I was thrown off by the blatantly modern language in a high fantasy, no technology setting; I truly enjoyed this book and read it in one sitting.

One of the greatest rom-com fantasies I have EVER read. I laughed out loud so many times. The banter: amazing. The spice: amazing. The story: amazing! I cannot wait to continue on in this series!
