I have to be honest I was not keen on the heroine when I started this book but I think she grows within the story.
By book 2 I loved her.
It is well written. There are some very funny quips.
The author writes about behind the scenes of the Royal family, which is interesting and funny.
It does end on a cliffhanger.

Josh went from literally 0 to 100 and I had a really hard time getting past that. I really wish this didn’t have the misplaced semi bdsm, because otherwise I really liked this.

I went in with trepidation, as just felt my understanding of the monarchy would make me too judgemental about a fictional story about royals. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was able to put my knowledge aside and just let the story capture my imagination. Adeline is a strong feisty woman. The lifestyle she is born into whilst privileged is claustrophobic and it really makes you question as a reader, that whilst you may dream of being a princess as a child, could you really live that life where you really are not in control of your life or have the freedom to just walk down the street by yourself. And bam - the chemistry between Adeline and Josh was explosive! Can’t wait for the concluding book in this series!

“Temptation to defy the rules is almost too much to resist”

Ok. So all I can say is that I just died reading the ending of this book. This was my first book from this author, and it definitely will not be my last. A controversial princess who just wants freedom from being royalty, and an American actor who just wants to break some rules with a certain princess. That’s how this story starts, but it is NOT how it finishes. It becomes quite the forbidden love story. I don’t want to ruin anything, so I’m not going to say much. What I will say is that during so much of this book I just wanted to punch certain characters. I swooned for Adeline and Josh. I cried for them. I got a little hot and bothered by them.

It does end on a cliffhanger, it is a duet, so I expected it. And let me tell you it will definitely GUT you. It gutted me. I need the next book. RIGHT. NOW!

I think anyone who enjoyed following the royal wedding, or watched the show The Royals will enjoy this book. There’s definitely lots of scandal and intrigue within the pages.

OMG, OMG, O-M-G!!! I loved this story so much that you should check out all my feeling by watching my #contemporaryathon vlog video for day 3 & 4, since most of my day is spend in a sling making me a one handed typer....

Keeping is short, I loved it, can't wait to get to the conclusion book of this duet, and I will talk more about my feelings in the September 2018 wrap-up & #contemporaryathon wrap-up.

I love this author. This book is different but not bad different. It’s wordy and my only complaint is that I don’t feel like I connected with Josh. Maybe we just didn’t get enough background on him.

i don't really have any expectations about this book at all and this is also my first jodi ellen malpas book so i just went into this without thinking of anything. all i can say is WOW. IT. DID. NOT. DISAPPOINT.

what can i say more besides the fact that this book was so good and i am definitely in love? i haven't really read a lot of books with royals and i am so glad that i picked this one up because it just blew me away. the spice and the romance were a perfect combination for the story and the plot was also very solid so i am really invested throughout the book. i cannot put this down. this is the type of story that i did not know i needed until i am done reading it. the chemistry between adeline and josh was just explosive and perfectly described, they are literally soulmates and their love story is now one of my favorites. aside from the romance, there are also a lot of family dramas and interesting side characters that made this book more addictive. and yes, I AM OBSSESED WITH THIS.

if you have not read this yet, then what are you waiting for? GO READ AND DEVOUR IT NOW because you are missing out!

That ending though!!

Jodi Ellen Malpas is a new-to-me author and I really enjoyed the story of The Controversial Princess. The ending has a significant twist that will make you want to read the sequel.
