I liked this one. A good ghost story if you like that kind of storyline.

I have read almost all of @jodipicoult 's books and have loved most all I've read! This is one of her older ones that I just haven't read before.
The beginning was a bit difficult to get into, especially as an audiobook. The change of POVs at the beginning is a bit choppy that's hard to catch with the audiobook. But once I was into the story I was hooked!
This is a ghost story, a love story, a story about forgiving oneself, and about learning to overcome your fears! In true Picoult fashion there are lots of twists, most I didn't see coming! And the is able to intricately weave, will leave you with a beautiful picture when it's complete and you're able to step back and see the whole thing!
If you're a fan of Picoult, you'll enjoy this one! If you've never read her I would recommend this one, but can also recommend more too! 😁

This book was so full of suspense and twists I couldn't even handle it. It takes so much more than talent to do what Jodi Picoult did in this book. The end was perfect, just how I imagined it to be. Over all a great story.

As much as I very much enjoyed this book, it is my least favourite Jodi Picoult one so far. One of only two not to get a 5* review. Part of this was due to figuring out the mystery before it was revealed but also as I didn’t feel as invested in the characters as I usually do with her books.

I would still recommend this book as it is a very good read.

This one took me a lot longer to get through than it usually takes for Jodi’s books. I’m going to blame it on my busy season at work.

This was another book that keeps you guessing and assuming you know what happens in the end and then everything you thought was true is no longer true!!

Ghosts & eugenics... what once was & what might have been.

I was intrigued by this book. All the themes, characters, story lines...Picoult wove them all together seamlessly. I'm having trouble wanting to start a new book, like not wanting to eat sommething after I've brushed my teeth. I want to keep savoring this fresh taste on my palate.

Some quotes:

"Heroes were ordinary people who knew that even in their own lives were impossibly knotted, they could untangle someone else's. And maybe that one act could lead someone to rescue you right back" (374).

"Once you make a sacrifice for someone, you own part of their soul."

From the author interview regardinng genetic diagnostics:

"The problem isn't science, in my opinion, it's who decides what's 'normal' or 'optimal' or 'valuable.'"
