Another great Picoult read! I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting this book was! I am always interested in a good ghost story, but the whole eugenics storyline was also fascinating and sad. I couldn't believe that this was actually something that happened in America! The people in this story are well developed and fascinating, even though so many of them have such sadness in their lives. I enjoyed how the book was in present day, and then went back to many years ago to tell the rest of the story. Getting the characters straight, at first, is confusing but us Picoult fans know that once we get it the story just flows so easily! Thank you Jodi for another great one!

I struggled to get into this, in part because there were so many characters and it was difficult to keep them straight. It took me a few weeks to read the first third, but once I got into this I read the rest in 4 days and I’m glad I persevered with it. Jodi Picoult is my favourite author and I love her books and this book is no exception. The plot was well thought out and I loved the historical aspects of it. People saying they couldn’t believe it in the reviews below annoy me - you’re supposed to suspend disbelief when reading about the supernatural.

SpoilerUsually I can’t guess what’s coming in Jodi Picoult’s books but this one I guessed who Meredith and Az were part of the way through. And I assumed Lia had killed herself then Spencer had tried to pass it off as a murder. In spite of this the book kept me gripped.

This was my least favorite story by Jodi Picoult. It was interesting, but i guess it just wasnt really my style.

Had a really hard time getting into this book until halfway through. There were so many characters and the point of view was changing every other page. Because I had already read Leaving Time, the storyline was predictable and fairly unbelievable. Despite that, I loved how all the characters developed and eventually connected.

I think this might be my second favorite Jodi Picoult book. It's delicious, with great characters, and nicely done trips back in time, and ghosts, and twists. Excellent.
emotional reflective sad

Beginning was so confusing way too many characters that seem unrelated. I almost put it down.
About 1/5 of the way through though it gets really good and I couldn’t put it down. So interesting to see how the characters fit into each other’s lives.
The ending suckkkkkkkkkkssssssssssss

Thought I would see what all the fuss is about. So far, I must say it's a very easy read and is enjoyable.

I am a sucker for a ghost story!!!
