Einzelne 'Gebrauchsanweisungen' für alltägliche oder auch nicht ganz so alltägliche Situationen. Umberto Ecco ist ein meister der Erzählkunst; das ist unbezweifelt. Mit diesem Buch haben ich erkannt, dass er auch einen feinen Sinn für sich steigernden Sarkasmus hat. Sehr unterhaltsam.

As I have mentioned before Eco's essays are amazing philosophical works and this collection just shines. The title piece is the best piece of non fiction I've ever read. Only Eco can use a defrosting salmon as a criticism of modern energy saving technological devices. Genius. The rest of the essays shine just as brightly.
