I first read this book in the 80s as a kid, and I’m currently reading the recent BBC reissues of the original novels.
The story is well told and entertaining, pretty much what you would expect from this experienced Doctor Who writer, also interesting are the footnotes at the end that explains some of the changes that were made from script script to screen and then into a novel. I kind of hope all of the old novelisations of the original run of Doctor Who are released and they also recently released novels based on new series episodes. More of those as well please!

My first introduction to Classic Who. I enjoyed this story and I founf the Second Doctor interesting. I don't know any of the other Classic Who Doctors so it's hard to say which one is my favorite. As a companion I really liked Jamie because the Doctor has had such strong female lately and I kinda liked to see a strong male character (other than the Doctor). And when the Doctor threw the rock at the yeti Jamie's reaction was perfect. I liked the other characters too and the story, but I wished I had got to see more about the real yetis (it was so cute...).

A fine story. Easier to understand through the novel than by watching the recon. Victoria has nothing to do though.

Not brilliant but not half bad either. I love the characters of Jamie and the Doctor but generally there coul have been more depth to the book.
