Quite slow start but kicks off about half way through and then you're speeding to the end! I had many theories but none of them were right. Kept me guessing until the end! Good, enjoyable, easy read.

This a quick and enjoyable read especially for any horror fans - although the horror parts here are more of a backstory than the present day mystery at hand, and I do wish we got more chapters at Pine Cottage. I'm also not sure that the twist ending here is particularly earned (parts are but not the final twist IMO). This was just my second Riley Sager read after The House Across the Lake, so I am gathering out-of-nowhere controversial endings to be kind of his "thing." THATL ending worked for me, this one not as much.

am not sure what to rate this. But I almost never knew where this book was going. I did have my suspicions, but didn’t have much justification behind it, but a main suspicion of mine ended up being right somehow. Would read more from this author.
