Overall I would say I enjoyed this novel and I do intend to read the sequels. I thought the concept was extremely interesting. The big issue I had is that I found most of the human POV chapters pretty boring for the first 75% or so of the book. I understand that they were needed in order to setup the ending but I just wanted to keep reading about the spiders.

This book was a real surprise. The word “epic” gets thrown around a lot, but this is the actual definition of epic. It’s a sweeping, perspective-bending epic that anyone could enjoy except perhaps arachnophobes.

Really loved this book, such an interesting premise and it really explores the full depths of everything that it sets up.

Mind blowing!
You follow two stories; The evolution of an entire species on an earth-like planet and the remainder of the human race journeying through space in search of a new home. Both stories span millennia, but the concept makes it possible to still follow them closely. This is brilliant science fiction and a must read for science fiction fans!
