As someone who loves sci-fi and fantasy, I can say this is amazing. It hits all the rights spots with magic and suspense in a post apocalyptic world!

I bought this book brand new and put off reading it. Why???? It was so good! Exciting, emotional, funny - It hit all the marks. I loved the plot, loved the characters and always appreciate the fact that Nora rights all different types of men and women. It’s refreshing. I swear parts of this book practically gave me nightmares. So well done.

First Nora Roberts for me, and urban fantasy is not my usual genre.

I really loved the beginning, and liked seeing how people come together to create a community... but then felt a little let down when the main character Lana had to flee. I am hoping book 2 brings back some of the New Hope characters.

But in the end, I definitely enjoyed the story and reserved book 2.

This ain't no Stephen King's The Stand, by a long shot, but it's an enjoyable read, enough so that I'll have to pick up Of Blood and Bone to find out what happens next.

Amazing, what a great start to a series and I cannot wait for the second book!

Quite a departure from Roberts romance books, but well worth the read.

Magical folk and humans are forced to share the Earth after 80% of the population is killed outright in a fast moving plague. The Uncannys - humans who begin to exhibit magical abilities (fairies, witches, elves, seers, etc.) come in two flavors: Dark and Light. And the battle for a planet full of spoils, left empty by the mass die-off begins as humans and the light uncanny race against the dark uncanny to regroup, organize, and survive.

Excellent book with an apocalypse, magic uprising, romance, danger, and hope.

Really great apocalypse book!

This is a solid, fast paced novel, with great characters and a unique world setting. I wish there was just a bit more explanation of the magic system and lore that led to the Doom, but it's a great book overall!

I really enjoyed the journey in this magical post apocalyptic world.

Loved it!
