A much fluffier book than the first in this series, but just as enjoyable. While Smoky Darling had a bit of action and mystery, this one was really just pure romance and sexy times. Another hit from this author.
Axel is an awesome. Much like all of male characters from SJ Tilly, he’s a big demanding alpha male, but all of them manage to be so different from each other. Axel is gruff and a little dense with his emotions, but gooey soft with Maddie, and he seems like an incredible dad to Brian too.
Maddie was just as fun as she was in the first book, but we see her insecurities in this book. I just wish that by the end of it, she had learned to stand up for herself a bit more, some character growth, but it was alright.
