The book builds an interesting mythology around this cult with a supernatural twist. The final act confrontation didn’t quite have the punch I was hoping for but the last page was still very satisfying. The book is strongest in the back and forth between Kyle and Max and in describing the growing paranoia Kyle feels as he deals with the worsening sleep desperation throughout the book.

My second and last Nevill. Over 500 pages of mostly the same thing happening over and over again. They visit a new place and there are monsters there. The MC gets attacked by monsters at night and flails around helplessly in the dark. Ad nauseum.
