i love when a book just speaks to my soul. this collection of short stories is my introduction to thomas morris’ writings and i agree with what other people has said about irish writers: what is in their air? why are there so many great writers from ireland?

‘we don’t know what we’re doing’ is a title that relieves. thank you, you are absolutely correct, i don’t know. and then you open the book and there are stories with people that seem like you can find them around your neighbourhood and surprise, they also don’t know what they are doing.

apparently most of us are just confused mammals walking around the earth, fumbling with our life’s decision and crossing our fingers praying that hopefully, hopefully, in between the mess of yeses & nos & maybes we at least did one thing right.

this is one of those books filled with messy stories about messy people in this messy life. obviously the curse of short stories is still there: you are left hanging, some of them just Dont Vibe with you, but personally (emphasize in the word Personally) in a whole this is something i’ll hold close to me.

I really enjoyed how every story is set in the same city and how in each story the characters have a view of the city castle.
I enjoyed certain stories more than others-the last one was my favourite.
