adventurous slow-paced

I should have loved this book. I've always been fascinated by all things Romanov, non-fiction as well as fiction. So a book about the Romanovs and the October revolution with MAGIC?! Should have been phenomenal. But it was too long. I had a hard time staying engaged. Sometimes I felt like I had been reading for hours and nothing was happening. It's almost unheard of that it took me nearly two weeks to finish this book. But I do like how a lot of things were parallel to what actually happened in reality, so bonus points for that!

I didn’t want this to end

I really liked this fantasy version of the myth of Anastasia! I also really enjoyed the illustrations throughout the book… I <3 Anya and Damien

Idk how much of the background of the Romanovs’ was accurate (I want to do research) but holy heck this was a ride. The world building was stunning and the main FFC and MMC were absolutely a joy to read with the two perspectives. I wasn’t a big fan of the twist although the ending was wonderfully positive. Solid read. Probably going to buy it for my sister
