Yes. This book is longggggg, but SO worth it. The magic, the characters, the plot. Anastasia and Damien were perfect. The beginning was a little slow for me, but once it picked up dang! Honestly besides the romance (duh), Anastasia’s growth throughout the book was my favorite part. I absolutely loved that it followed her throughout the years and it showed how she grew as a person. Favorite read of the year so far.
I’m sure like most people, I only know the story of Anastasia because of the animated film (such a good movie) so I was excited to read this version that Sophie Lark wrote. I loved the majority of it and I felt like I never wanted to put it down. The only thing that kept this book from being 5 stars was how long it was! There were a handful of chapters that I felt like the story was just being drawn out for nothing and I got just the tiniest bit bored with it. But once I made it through said chapters I was sucked right back in to the story!

This is one of my new tops books. I loved it so much more than I was expecting.
Grand Duchess Anastasia is mischievous, wild and cunning. As the 4th daughter to the Tsar, she lives a lavish life. When a mysterious sorcerer, Rasputin, shows up to save her brothers life, everything begins to change. War becomes reality, Rusya’s people are rioting, and the country Anya has come to love is now a stranger. As Anastasia discovers the truth about Rasputin, it becomes her responsibility to save not only her family but her country as well.
I’ve been interested in the history of the Romanov family and I was so excited to see Sophie Lark put her own spin on it! I loved how Sophie was able to keep everything that makes the Romanov’s memorable while also creating a magical world they are apart of in the story. The Rusya Sophie created is captivating and she was able to really humanize Anastasia. I loved being able to watch Anastasia grow into the incredible ruler she was destined to be.

I really enjoyed this book, it gives a magical twist to a classic (and tragic) tale. Its touching and intricate and beautiful. However at almost 700 pages it is very very long, if you dont have the time to dedicate to it or prefer faster paced shorter stories this will be a bit of a challenge, thats not to the book is borning because not at all but it is very long and dedicates a lot of time to the characters reactions and feelings.
