I loved Penny and Gabe’s story! The banter was, as always, top notch. The sass was sassing, the sham was shamming, and the romance was sweet and perfect.

Penny’s history of abuse was quite unexpected and I didn’t love the way it was addressed and “resolved”.

While this book included both love/lust at first sight and a third act breakup, neither of which I’m a fan of, I did really like both Penny and Gabriel. Also Tessa Dare is a banter QUEEN.

What I loved most was the friend group. They were so funny and supportive. Although, they could be a bit overbearing at times lol. Like, let the girl live. I also liked the couple.

3 stars because it was kind of boring in the beginning? And there were too many making out/sex scenes imo (I'm not a fan of them in general but there are also times when my tolerance for them dips and I guess this was one of those times). And then it was conflict after conflict. I kept thinking, "ah ok, this is the third act conflict." But then there'd be another conflict and I would be confused.

This was so good. I read it in under 24 hours! I loved the tropes it had but also that it didn’t rely on them too much. I loved the cameos and characters from other books. The conflicts felt realistic and in-character. The fmc’s conflict that is revealed made sense and hit me emotionally.
it reminded me very much of should’ve, could’ve, would’ve😢
My only issue is that I felt the fmc forgave the mmc too fast at the end but to be fair he did work for it.
