I can honestly say I can't recall if I had ever read this classic. It didn't seem as familiar as Huckleberry Finn but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Twain writes a rollicking adventure that is now a bit dated. I'd recommend this book for middle school readers and older as there are the long debated issues about word usage that might cause confusion for younger readers.

Another classic I never read and wish I had. Twain does a great job of capturing the innocence, superstitions and illogical thinking of being a child. A fun read, instilling a sense of adventure without moving to the realm of the unbelievable. Looks like I'll have to look in on Huckleberry Finn now. Obviously of another era, but with a timelessnes that feels honest. Note to the PC Police: Characters use disparaging terms towards black people and American Indians. It reflects the time and location the story takes place, and that's all there is to it.

This book is obviously the most classic of classics. Everyone knows of Tom Sawyer, but I’ve never read the book. I’m glad I did. It was a cute and funny story. The boys are so rambunctious in this book, I think this book is a good example of boys will be boys.

It’s a fun to read about the adventures that Tom got into with Huck. so much fun that I began to ache for an adventure.

Although, there is some racism and talk of graphic violence. It did throw me off and if things like that turns you away I would suggest you skip this book.
