This is such a tragic story, the characters are so well drawn for such a short book. You can feel the hope they have for this idea of a place of their own, and it's so close they can almost grasp it. But it's inevitably not meant to be.

This book has made me think more about my own life and my friendships. Even though my friendship will never become the outcome of this story. But how much love and care George had for Lennie.

I really enjoyed the story and I really like the the two main characters.

It's a real simple read but it has so many hidden morals within the story that it's become more than simple.

Pick it up if your in the mood for a easy heart felt classic,

*Note the grammar in my kindle verison of this book was really bad. So if the books are like that too, im just warning you if you hate correcting words. lol.*

I’m sorry but I cannot in the slightest understand why Of Mice and Men is such a popular book. It is the most dull, repetitive and contradictory thing I have ever read! Even though the book is less than 200 pages, the descriptions and the writing repeat themselves over and over and I just feel like the actual writing of this story is lazy, it’s practically copied and pasted itself throughout the entire text. The story meanders along and there’s no real tension, even in scenes that are supposed to be impactful. There’s no real pacing to this book, it just drags along until the end whilst you read about George being an absolute devil spawn of a character. George is beyond horrible to Lennie and everyone treats him like saint for taking care of Lennie. George literally lies about never being horrible to Lennie and then admits to literally telling Lennie to jump off a cliff and he even says that if he were a relative of Lennie that he’d shoot himself. Speaking of Lennie, he is just a punching bag of a character. Lennie isn’t given an ounce of free-will and is essentially used as torture porn within the story, to the point that the ending had no impact on me whatsoever, I already knew what happened but regardless, the book gives you no reason to care about him because he is such a nothing character. What was the best thing about this book? How short it was.
