it’s painfully liberal fanfiction set in a utopia where we’re meant to believe politicians actually have the people’s interests at heart and supposed to root for a white woman democrat from texas to become president because that’s apparently Progressive, not to mention how the very unlikely circumstance of a prince born with a silver spoon in his mouth somehow grew up to be #Woke on all issues and not extremely sheltered (but his older brother did because. reasons?) is swept under the rug and instead we get some offhand comments about how colonisation was Bad... but henry is my special guy and gay people getting happy endings makes me smile so!

This is such a comfort book!!! I love the characters and the way Henry and Alex are written. Some would say it’s idealized, but I don’t mind it at all. It’s not meant to be groundbreaking and it’s definitely meant to be a “perfect world” type of deal. I could totally see myself coming back to this when I need someone to cheer me up.

This book is joy, pure joy. I took off half a star, because it was a little too steamy in a few scenes for me where I had to skip over.
The election scene at the end made me SOB. When Texas turned blue, I couldn't stop crying. It was beautiful.
