i don’t necessarily know how to feel. very heavy stuff. whether it’s real or not i don’t think is that important. even if it is simply 1970s propaganda about drugs, it definitely tells you a lot about that period of time and the politicisation of drug use. i’m not sure how believable the narrator is as a supposed 15 year old and i’m surprised all her trauma didn’t impact her in more ways than it did. but either way the story is depressing and shows you how all-consuming and difficult addiction can be.

Picked up this DNF from last year. It’s absolutely not timely or accurate for 2024 but it may have been close in 1971. Pure propaganda. The ending was the best part.

If you think drugs only come to broken people or kids, you are totally wrong. This book explains about a true story about it and what made me shock was the ending.

Nothing more than a sensationalist, probably fake, badly-written diary.

Really felt something when I thought it was a true story. Felt more angry when I realized it was made up and total propaganda to stigmatize already marginalized populations

Didn't want to finish but I kept pushing through. Writing was terrible. Story was weak. Nothing nice to say about this.
