Review:
Even tho this only The 13th Novel ive read by Nicholas Sparks i have to say i would of liked it abit more if The Prologue to Chapter 4 werent so descriptive and dragged out with Trevor's background story.

The Characters were fun and enjoyable to read about. Trevor and Natalie were definately My Favorites, i even shipped them by the end of the book.

The Setting was beautifully described which made me feel like i was actually in 2019 Afghanistan and 2014 New Bern, North Carolina while reading, especially when the scenery was described.

Overall a Good Contemporary Novel!! Can't wait to read more by Nicholas in the future!!

I lived in New Bern for a year, so my fave parts of this were every time somewhere was mentioned that I've been to!

This book was one of my last gifts from my grandma, and I read it for her. It does hit home how the main character's grandpa passed away.

The romance wasn't my fave of Nicholas Sparks, but I did love the parts about her husband, and I think everything she was feeling was valid. Also loved how our main character didn't force her into a relationship and respected her boundaries.

The book is pretty good. It’s not the best Nicholas Sparks book in my opinion, but I do think it is one of the better ones. It feels different then the typical Sparks novel, which made it a real page turner and really intriguing. I think the story is much better than others he has done, but I do think the characters in this one are worse. Especially Trevor, some of the stuff he said made him sound like a real douche. I think it is a good story and has a good overall message, especially since it focuses on more than just the romance between Trevor and Natalie.

I’ve read all his books, but this just didn’t follow his trend. I thought it was a slow start and a quick few chapters of excitement. The ending was a bit lackluster and didn’t bring tears like many of his others.

I’m giving this a 2 ⭐️
Honestly this my not have been my type of book. I also would not compare this to Dear John at all; only similarity is Trevor is ex military.
I didn’t care at all for Trevor our main character and there’s things in his life that I relate to but still felt like he was very arrogant at times.
I didn’t appreciate the first few interactions he had with Natalie.
I felt very underwhelmed by the romance. About 70% through the plot completely changes focus to what was a side story with Callie, was now the main focus for the last part of the entire book. This kind of felt like the romance should’ve been subplot the entire time & Trevor digging deeper into his grandpa’s death.
But I cared more about this last portion than the entire first half.
Felt scattered.
I liked knowing about the bees
