This series has its ups and downs and some books are better than others. The Far Traveller is one of the good ones. The Baroness is a hoot, the ship Big Sister is priceless (in more ways than one) and I was so saddened by her ending and pissed off that she was that stupid.

A fun take on the self-concious ship, it's easy to see how this could have been a main inspiration for the hitchikers guide and is definitely in the same genre. It doesn't do it as well though but was still a nice read.
