At times, this was kind of dull and hard to engage with and at other times it had me laughing out loud.

I think it’s hilarious how often I read classics as an adult and find that they’re all about Chad’s & Himbo’s 🤣

While this translation came from a fascinating impetus, and reminded me how much I love Beowulf, the modern speak went from different to grating a little quickly for me.

my unfamiliarity with the culture made this epic suuch an interesting read. definitely challenging, could be confusing at points, and i didn't find myself particularly endeared to any of the characters but i'm glad that i read it and the poem was pretty cool, i love the alliterative style of medieval poetry.
