Podruhé a v audiu, na vlně s filmem, posedlí duněním písku a písečnými červy. Poslouchali jsme každý den půl hodinku před spaním a užili si to velmi.

I had very little idea what was going on throughout 98% of this book, but for the absurdly detailed world building alone it deserves at least 4 stars. This was space Tolkien on LSD levels of world building. Absolutely unreal.

I love the concept and ideas within Dune, I just couldn't get in to the writing style and such a long series at this time. I'm definitely interested in retrying at a different time!

Ok...OK let me gather my thoughts because this was something. I will start by saying that the last chapters were VASTLY more interesting than the first part of the book. I also found the world building and lore to be hermetic. I can see why this is the foundation of many other sci-fi epics, but Jesus christ it got long in some parts. I do believe that Chani and Irulan deserve way better from Paul tho. So.....
