Turkish novella (memoir? some of this stuff feels too personal to be fiction) in the same world as Sylvia Plath’s The Bell Jar and Tove Ditlevsen’s Copenhagen series.

It gives a tragic look into Turkish mental health institutions and the abuse patients suffer under the guise of treatment. I can’t say I enjoyed this one due to the weight of its content, but the wandering writing and hopeful ending made it worth the read.

This was more like a diary, like a collection of thoughts. And that's not necessarily bad, but I think it only works well if there's an overarching theme or plot to draw them together, which I don't think there was. Evocative but not engaging.
