2.5* - this was overall pretty dumb and just felt juvenile. I was rolling my eyes a lot. It’s only 220 pages though.
Thanks Net Galley and publishers for letting me read an arc of this book for my honest review.
I really liked this one. It was a quick read for me only taking a couple of days to finish. It started off really slow so I wasn't sure what to think for a bit. Once it picked up there were so many twists and turns. I couldn't decide who was the bad guy and what was going to happen. I kinda enjoyed that the mc was 45, cause most psychological thrillers are always about younger people. She's recently separated with a daughter who hates her. She's pretty much going through a mid life crisis when her life turns upside down in the worst of ways. Kept me guessing until the end.

Pro Tip, when you're writing a thriller you shouldn’t telegraph your villain so heavily before the book reaches halfway. Why do I care how we get to the story climax if I've already figured out the story before you can get there.
I give the author kudos for her writing style though, just didn't like the story.

I was really enjoying the first half of this book and then I feel like it got confusing and a little drawn out but also rushed?? Not bad for a free book on prime, but found myself reading just to be done by the end of it
This is one messed up book. (I like messed up books, so this is a compliment).
I got The Wife Between Us vibes, and then a bit of Verity as well.
This was a wild ride of a book that's for sure. Wow.
Thank you NetGalley for my E-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

What a ride!!
Wow! Wow! The twists and turns in this book! I started out reading the ebook copy of this book but got to a really crucial part in my lunch break and switched to the audio copy because I could not be left wondering what was about to happen! So glad I got this book on a whim!

This one surprised me. I was not expecting it to hold my attention as well as it did. I couldn't put this down! There were so many different mysterious things happening at once - so when I really wanted to know the answer to one, I'd often get the answer to another or be faced with something all new. The mixture of marriage dramas, reminiscing on college days, fighting with your teen daughter, and wondering what it is that's not as it seems was perfect for keeping me on my toes.

I've really enjoyed all of Samantha's books and I'm looking forward to her upcoming release Hello, Juliet in April.
This was a gripping, fast paced mystery that was also quite dark. I didn't necessarily like the characters, but they worked well for this story. I enjoyed how this was broken up into sections with different POVs. And while I did figure out a few things, I didn't expect most of the twists.
Overall, a great read and I highly recommend!
