This was such a good book, and a great continuation of the Other Realm series! Jinx Sharp’s life is never dull, but now it’s a race against the clock as she struggles to find a cure for the mysterious illness that is taking her best friend’s life. I loved Jinx in this one because she really displays her compassionate side. I also loved the fact that she was forced to face her feelings for Emory at last. Jinx is one of my favorite urban fantasy heroines because she’s completely capable of taking care of herself, but also because of her boldness and snarky comebacks. I’m excited to see what happens next!!!

Blitzing through 4 books in a weekend makes it hard to write individual reviews after the fact, because they kind of all run together into one big story. That said, I particularly loved this one - puzzling out the virus, and Jinx's backstory ... plus so much wonderful Jinx/Emory. I'm hooked!

I read the first three books in this series within 24 hours.  So, obviously, I am loving this series.  The whole fated mates thing threw me for a loop, because I didn't see it going there, but I'm actually glad it did.  In this installment, there is a mysterious illness among the creatures and Jinx and crew must find what it is and ultimately who is causing it.  These books seem to always end on a cliff hanger, but I'm here for it.  On to the next!

In Glimmer of Death, we follow Jinx dealing with the aftermath of Lucy's situation while she's solving a new mystery. An unknown virus is killing members of every species in the Other and Jinx has to find the source and the antidote before it's too late.
In order to save her best friend she has to do unspeakable things, but Jinx is loyal, smart, and able to exploit any loopholes to save her friend.
In her quest, Jinx teams up with unlikely allies and discovers more about her abilities and a way to acquire new ones. If you enjoyed the flirting and banter with Emory, then you'll love this book as their relationship developed further.
I love the writing, the depth of the characters, the magical system, and the world-building. The story is easy to read, fast-paced, action-packed, and hard to put down.
The ending was surprising and I can't wait to read the next one!

Love this series

This is a long running arc with individual book plot lines thrown in - and it is very well done. There are things mentioned here that harken back to book 1, in the best kind of “ah ha!” way. As for the characters, as is frequently mentioned, Jinx is unflappable. Seriously. The girl get a smack and keeps on trucking, mental whiplash or not. And Emory? Love him. Great UF, fade to black scenes if you care, first person, single POV.
