Dnf because what the actual F is this.

Booktok needs to go sit in a corner for hyping this up the way they did bc I KNOW there is no way we're talking about the same book.

Between grammatical errors on every page, the flippant switching from present to past tense for literally no reason, and the just awful writing I'm not even going to bother trying to push through

MMC is a bit of a dick to FMC throughout and it ends on a cliffhanger!!!

So I sat one this book for weeks and now I can say with my full chest that I am obsessed.

Characters:
So if you looking certifiably psychotic hero then look no further. Danny is unhinged and is not apologising for anything. bonus points for the grim reaper mask her wears. I will warn you that his a massive dick for most of this book but, once he accepts it there is no letting go.

Nothing to complain our FMC. She is a bad.

I won't bore you with the story line as going into this blind is the best option. But, please ready the trigger warnings as there are heavy topics covered

OPERATOR GRIM REAPER

Warning it ends on a cliffhanger. From the start I was sucked in. Being prior military I never thought I would find myself reading a dark military romance. But with that being said I throughly enjoyed it. Danny is a navy seal meaning he gets sent on missions he can’t disclose and it’s usually a rescue mission trying to get someone who’s been captured back. Ari is a nurse and her brother Paul recently passed and was also a navy seal. On night at a bar their paths cross and it all starts from there.

im gonna be so honest i can’t fucking stand the pregnancy trope. also the book was good but i’m not into it enough to read the second one just to see if Ari dies or not.

If I’m giving this book 2 stars, it’s because the author put a lot of work into it, but I honestly don’t know if it deserves that much.

I really need to learn to DNF books more often…

There is no chemistry between Ari and Danny. Danny is just as abusive to her as Ari’s ex, Shane, was. I doubt he has an ounce of respect for her, and trauma is a good excuse up to a point.

I could sense the unplanned pregnancy from the moment they had unprotected intercourse and although cobblers often wear the worst shoes, Ari being a nurse, since when has an application been a reliable method of contraception, especially for a woman with irregular cycles?

Also, English is not my first language, and I was confused by the writing. The mixture of present and past tense in the same sentence was very confusing.

The story had potential, but more editing should have been done to point out all the inconsistencies.

I won’t be reading the other books in the series.
