i loved every one of these characters. sometimes the anxiety inducing inner monologues we're almost too much for me and I had to put the book down for a minute and come back to it, that's how well written it was.

now I need a story about Xuiying and Sky 🧡🤍💖

Absolutely lovely. A slice of life, coming of age - gender exploration story. I loved all the characters, the truly sweet wholesome and honest dialogue. It’s very relatable in my opinions. Highly recommend for people of all ages and demographic.

Pg rating, no spice and just a wonderfully good time.

Note; that it is an indie author and minor spelling/grammar errors but the story is there and the errors are so minor. You’ll probably mindlessly fix them as you read it.

I love the writing style of this author - I read a previous short story and decided to tackle this one. I feel like it ticked a lot of marks with resonating with the characters on both sexuality and gender identity. I would recommend anyone to read it because I feel the characters reflection on their identity feels so relatable that it might resonate with anyone also questioning their gender or sexuality. I wouldn’t say the reveals are predictable but I felt because they resonated so much with my own experiences I saw myself in the main lead.

I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
(By the way, thanks!!)

This book was an easy read until it wasn't. I feel the need to apologize for the fact that I almost couldn't finish it. I thought that reading a story with a main character questioning their gender identity couldn't trigger any old bad feelings in me, but it did. And by the 85% mark I was on the verge of having a panic attack. I put the book down and had a friend of mine telling me to not pick it up again (at least for a while) for my own sake. So that's what I did.

The diversity in this story is great. It felt refreshing to see such a diverse cast, and it felt good to see their relationships with each other. Alex is a pretty good protagonist and their journey resonated with me more than once. Tate's character made me so effortlessly happy. I kind of wished there were more scenes with Uriah. And, to be honest, I did not care much about Xiuying or Sky, but they were decent enough characters.

My complaints aren't exactly complaints, just personal preferences. For example, I would've liked to see more of the sports, that it had a bigger relevance to the story. But I know that it wasn't the point. And, honestly, it's okay.
