Overall, this was a good book. I just didn't love the characters. Ryley kept saying she wanted to work and be useful but she did absolutely nothing. Especially for that charity that allegedly meant so much to Jackson. I just couldn't get over her being a relatively weak and useless character. She showed so much backbone at first sticking up to Jackson for Justin. Then it all just seemingly went away. She was absolute!y loyal though.

What would you be willing to do for the person you love? Would you sacrifice yourself to the devil to try and save their soul? This dark enemies to lovers story is filled with lies, manipulation, revenge, and the ultimate betrayal, but sometimes things aren’t always what they seem. These characters are dynamic and engaging and their chemistry ignites a fire within. I absolutely loved Jackson and Ryley’s unique love story.

Fantastic Read!
This Cruel Love by Nikki J Summers
Is my first book by this author, but certainly won’t be my last. I really liked it. A page turner for sure; I finished it in a day
Rylee comes home after being away at college; excited to start the next chapter in her life with her fiancé Justin. She quickly learns Justin has been keeping secrets. Not only does he have a serious drug habit, he owes a lot of money to some dangerous people
Ryley loves Justin enough to forgive him and is willing to do anything to help him out of this situation.
Here is where we meet Jackson, and man, things take off quickly from there.
This slow burn, enemies to lovers was right up my alley. I felt this was well written, interesting and it held my attention from the start. There was enough drama, sexy time, and unexpected twists, to keep things moving nicely. She did good wrapping up everything nicely there at the end.
I’m so happy I came across this one. I really enjoyed it. I cant wait for the next one.. I need more Cill!

Not for me...
This review is a little complicated to type out... When I first started this story I was sold, hook, line and sinker and then it lost me.
It seems the author took a bit of a few romance tropes out there and voila here we have This Cruel Love. I can "ignore" reality because, duh, this is fiction but, there are many, many plotholes and serious storyline issues that left me with one question too many.
I really didn't like the main characters, I kept reading in hopes that that would change, I'm sad to say it didn't.
Ryley was very wishy-washy. One minute she's in love with one sucky guy and then she's in love with this other "shy" (gosh we were told so many times he was shy), "bad" guy.
Jackson ugh, where do I even start? He was hot and cold, up and down. I swear the guy gave me whiplash.
Anyway, I tried to like this story but, it wasn't for me, sadly. And now I'm still searching for a great read.

I absolutely love Nikki's words.
This is the second book I've read by her and I'm totally kicking myself that it's took me this long to read this book and meet Jackson and Cillian.
Nikki has such a way with words and the story always drags you in and doesn't let you go.
Jackson and Ryley are absolutely perfect together. The soft to his hard, the smooth to his rough.
Jackson was amazing, he was brooding and downright sinful at times but i loved him.
Ryley damn she was fiesty and i liked it! I love how she stood up for herself and gave the sass aswell it made it easy to like her.
Don't even get me started on Cillian. We don't have enough time in the day for me to say how much i love that man.
I'm so looking forward to his book!

Oh be still my heart!
I absolutely loved this book from the first page to the last. Jackson is absolutely swoonworthy and the angst and banter between him and Ryley was everything. I don't normally enjoy second chance romance but Nikki is the master at making a second chance romance utterly amazing. The twists and turns in this book kept me guessing and I could barely put the book down. In fact, I stayed up until 2 am reading it because I had to know how it ended. I also loved Cillian's character. He lit up the page every time he appeared, and I can't wait to read his story.
Definitely one of my faves of my 2020 reads so far.

Loved!!!
I loved this book! Devoured it! Travis got on my nerves a little bit with his childish attitude but it wasn't enough to make me take a star off. Love Ryley and Jackson together. Swoon!
