I like this series. And this book was more than just funny. It has some really serious moments, touching ones as well. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Inspirational story to show that even when you think life couldn't get worse, you are in charge of your own destiny. And that family will come around even if it takes awhile.

I read this out loud with my ESL student and we enjoyed it. It's about a boy named Jamie who is in a wheelchair, and living in a new town (Long Island) with relatives. We don't know at first how he has come to be in this situation. His new step brother is a bully. He wants to be a comedian but he lives with a family who never laughs or smiles at his jokes. This book is light and funny, but it has a lot of heart to it.

Hysterical while also being inspirational and compassionate in a non-preachy way.
