This book was very funny.
Yeah, I know very surprising. An erotica’s prime feature being its humour. It was though!
This is an erotica in which a young woman who secretly manages an escort agency under the guise of a gardening/tennis club, meets a man who wants an artefact she received from her father.
I’m not a fan of erotica and I didn’t even know it was an erotica until I finished it.
I mean there are some seriously vivid sex scenes, I’ll tell you that. Involving. Liquid Gold.
Gold gets places, ya know. Yeah. It was a crazy ride.
But I actually seemed to like the day-to-day scenes between Lia and August more. I loved the incorporation of Greek Mythology, of feminism theory, of real, actual, FUNNY jokes.
I liked the vulnerability of the characters and the jokes they shared between each other.
I really liked it!
I do have my critiques on certain relationship, plot line development issues, but I’ll keep my my mouth shut because this book was mostly good!
One of many entertaining moments:
“Just a moment,” he said. “Have to make a call. Trying to schedule a tennis match.”
He sent the call(...).
August rang off. “No one home,” he said. Her phone immediately ceased buzzing. “Guess you’re out playing tennis. Let’s try again.”
He dialed. Lia’s phone buzzed. And buzzed. And buzzed. If Lia had a gun, she’d use it to shoot her phone.
“One more time,” August said. “She must be out gardening...” He dialed again. Lia’s phone buzzed again.
“Fine. Fine. You can stop now,” Lia said. August slipped his phone back into his pocket. (...) “The Young Ladies’ Gardening & Tennis Club of Wingthorn Hall isn’t a gardening or tennis club.”
“You don’t say.”

if you enjoy smutty Greek mythology and wish you could have sex with a god (in more ways than one) “The Rose” is the book for you
this is the second standalone book in The Godwicks series
“Lia, I could make you come so hard that your body floats three feet off the sheets and lightning will explode from your belly. You will see smells and hear colors. The heavens will break open and you will touch the face of God when I make you come. And I could do it with my hands tied behind my back.”
I…
I don’t know if there’s anything else I can say to encourage you to read this book that would be better than that quote. 9.5/10 would recommend
The story of Lia continues with her graduation party and the meeting of August. Lia's father gifts her a rare kylix, and August wants to show her how it works, and to buy it from her. She does not want to sell it, but is willing to see how it works with August.
From there we go on a mythological journey through Zeus and other Gods.
This story was fabulous and well worth the purchase!

What a magical and wildly erotic tale of adventure! A unique and thoroughly entertaining journey that will have you wide eyed and envious. The Rose is unlike any other story I have read. The intriguing blurb has absolutely nothing on the story. This whirlwind tour of "history" and the erotic situations are enough to melt your kindle and even your "lady bits" !!!
Tiffany Reisz successfully had me enthralled in the world of her making. So much so I had no idea that the guy on plane next to me was so squirmy because he couldn't believe I had the "lady bits" to read it in public! Cleary, I must be related to the Godwicks...
