I lost myself in this book. It was so beautifully written! I kind of guessed the ending about half way through, but that didn't detract from the book at all.

This was really good. I didn't know what to expect, mostly the amount of sex that would be involved, and you know what, I was not disappointed.

WHAT a FUCKING treat.

This has been the best romance book I have ever read!! Tiffany I love you so much please keep writing you are a talented goddess!!

I have been enormously into Greek mythology since I was a kid. And I am gaga over this book. The erotic scenes are lived-in fantasies of famous Greek myths, and the love story unfolding around them was damn delightful as well. Plus I adored her feisty, oh-so-loving parents. (I haven't read The Red yet, but now I definitely plan to!)

This book was so delicious, so well-researched, so well-written. It was steamy, yes, but it was also one of, if not the most original paranormal/fantasy romance novels I've ever read.

Since I loved so many aspects of this book, I'm going to save myself some time and focus on the 3 things I loved the most:

Feminist views on sexuality
The Rose is fascinating in that much of the plot is based on Greek mythology and the way it is depicted in art. The main character Lia's mother is a sexually liberated art collector and most of their conversations revolve around art and sexuality. Her mother believes a woman's needs are just as important, if not more important, than a man's. She also believes that classical art has never really been kind to women, usually depicting them as victims or lesser than their male counterparts. I found the scenes between Lia and her mother to be both comical (her mother has the best personality) and thought-provoking.

Greek mythology as a sexual fantasy
When Lia is gifted an ancient kylix, she has no idea the power it holds. But when the handsome August Bowman appears at her college graduation party and begs her not to drink from it, her curiosity is piqued. August tells Lia the kylix was a gift from Aphrodite to her son Eros, and anyone who drinks from it will have heightened sexual experiences and erotic fantasies. Riesz does an amazing job incorporating the greek gods and goddesses into her story. I've always been fascinated by Greek mythology, but this book took it to a whole new level. And even though this book is erotic, it also delves deep into ancient Greek folklore and how it is used to explain the nature of the world.

August Bowman, August Bowman, August Bowman
The third reason I loved this book so much was this special, special character. His charm and witty remarks will put a smile on your face, and his sexy confidence will make you blush. But what I loved most about August was the calmness he brought to the story. While Lia is hyper and at times inexperienced, August has a steadfast patience that really balances the story out. The chemistry between Lia and August causes an overwhelming need for these two to find their HEA.

Thank you Netgalley for my ARC.

An erotic romance sprinkled with magic and mythology. Super fun and sexy! I enjoyed this just as much as The Red. I felt myself smiling and giggling more with this one however. It was definitely an experience. I hope we get more from this family.
