I tasked myself with reading this so so slowly, only one or a couple delights before bed and man… the unexpected results were that this inspired me to write like nothing else. Ross Gay writes so beautifully - it speaks to me

Well, I gave it a go. Someone gave me his second book and I had to give it up about 80 pages in, and then that person told me they’d only read his first and gave me a copy. Turns out I just don’t like his writing style. I love the idea of essays, hand-written first, highlighting delights of the world but my brain was not made for his kind of writing and there are too many more things to read that will be the right fit.

I don’t know how do describe this book as anything other than delightful.

If I were going to try, however, I’d say it was heart-expanding, eye-brightening, soul-filling.

Thanks Ross for sharing yourself and your sight with us like this.
