3.5 rating. Not rounding it up to 4 because it wasn't as fun as the first one. Still not sure how I feel about the new narrator for this series either.

i really liked that a conflict between the love interests wasn't introduced to this story. that is was just the next stage of their relationship in a very natural way.

I just liked the story. I'm looking forward to reading the next one (you know, right now)

Second full read via audio. I didn't like how he did talking on the phone, but over all it was fine

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book.
This one felt much slower and didn't really keep my interest (I read 3 other books while reading this book).
Jon and Donovan were great and I'm going to read the next one but this mystery wasn't quite as intriguing as the last one.

I loved this second book in the series. Once again I loved everyone again. If you decide to read this series you definitely need to read the first book or you will be lost. It's worth it though.

As Jon and Donovan navigate their relationship while working together on a new case where women are getting hit on the head, which has turned to murder, they work with a horrible detective who brings out all of Donovan's protective instincts. I'm loving this series and how the relationship with the two men develop, as they deal with family, friends, and hostile detectives while doing the best they can. Another wonderful story and highly recommended!!

Fun

I know - how can murder be fun? But I found this book humorous and engaging. Poor Jon and his electricity disability. Donovan and his steadfastness made me believe in the relationship. The murders were bizarre and the answer unexpected. We got to meet many new characters and catch up with some old. Definitely recommend!

Fantastic book in series

Great 2nd book series.

I love the growth in the relationship between Jon and Donovan. They are so great together.

Some new characters are introduced and they are great. The mystery is great and the pacing between the mystery and Jon and Donovan’s relationship was well done.

I love this series and can’t wait for the next one!

I have enjoyed other books by this author before, which is why I decided to give this series a second chance. Unfortunately, the problems with the previous book continue here.

One of the problems with this genre being dominated by white, cis, female authors is that they don't have the same problematic (sometimes even deadly) experiences with the police that so many other queer people do. It seems like maybe the author started trying to address that in this book by creating a police department that hates psychics, but that goes nowhere, and the police come in to arrest another mentally ill character because the author seems to think that the only reason people commit violent crimes is mentally illness save the day.
