Containing only the first few chapters of the comic, this book offers little in terms of plot but is a solid introduction to the series and will give readers an idea of what to expect from the rest of it. The main characters are all introduced, with their roles made decently clear, and their personalities are strongly characterized. Sam, especially, makes for a likeable protagonist and though she hasn't the time to develop with an arc, she does show signs of growth and there are implications of complexities to her background and emotions.

The artwork is a mixed bag as while the character art is crisp and expressive, the backgrounds are frequently created via CGI models that are not in any way stylized to blend in with the art style. These CGI props glaringly stand out and make the entire comic appear cheap and unprofessional.

The story has not progressed far enough yet for anyone to reasonably expect meaningful progress with the romance and nothing that substantial happens. For this reason, the book may be considered boring or dissatisfying. Still, it is only the first volume.

The story feels really soothing and is a real slow burn, which is normally not my type of book. But because the character are absolutely adorable and very cute in their interaction it just fits the flow perfectly. Their are so many videogame references, that you feel so much at home that you just want to continue. Marshall is a really interesting charakter with a lot of depth, but not just he as the (hopefully) main romance option has a lot of flaws and problems. All the potential lovers and the friends of the mc are very well written and interesting. Sadly this causes the mc to seem a bit uninteresting (at least for me) and I want to see more of all the characters around her. Don't get me wrong, sam is still a very relatable and lovely char, but she seems a bit stereotypical with her shy and unconfrontational attitude in comparison to the others. Can't wait to finish part 2 and continue with this story. Especially for Gamer it's an must read in my opinion.

I know more then likely she is going to end up with marshall but Charles is growing on me.I like that he doesn't treat her like a little kid like her family does. Link I like him with Angela. Continuing on to part 2 I'll probably be cought up in one day we will see where the story takes us signing off lol.

At first, it was hard to get into. I went into it blind. It got better. I'm glad I already have the next.
